Pricing
How a call gets priced
What decides the price
Four things move a plumbing price, and you can see most of them before anyone drives over.
Where the leak is, and what has to be opened to reach it.
The pipe: copper, galvanized or plastic, and how old.
Whether the part is on the van or has to be ordered.
Day or night: night calls carry a night charge.
What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't
The price covers the work we describe in it. It leaves out the wall.
Included: labor, the parts we install, hauling away what we remove.
Not included: drywall, paint, tile or flooring, which are other trades' work.
Not included: permit fees, listed on their own line when a job needs a permit.
What happens at the visit
We look first and say what we found before touching a tool. The visit has a fee. If you say yes to the repair at that visit, the visit fee comes off the repair price.
After hours
Calls between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m., and on weekends and holidays, cost more than the same visit by day. We tell you the night charge on the phone, before you say yes, and you decide then.
When you get the number
Before work starts, in writing, by text or on paper. It is a fixed price for the work we described, not a running clock. If something behind the wall changes the job, we stop and you decide.
Hear the visit terms before you decide
Call and ask. The visit fee and the night charge are the first thing we say.
